Supervised Visitation
Supervised visitation is a court ordered or mutually agreed upon arrangement where a child visits with the non-custodial parent in the presence of a neutral third-party, known as the professional provider or monitor. These services ensure the safety and protection of the child's well-being.
These services are typically utilized when there are concerns regarding the parent's behaviors, both historically and/or presently. These concerns can include but are not limited to abuse, substance use or addiction, or concern for abduction.
Visitations occur in a controlled setting with strict guidelines that must be followed by all parties involved. These strict guidelines include but are not limited to staggered arrival/departure times of parents to avoid conflicts, limited use of cell phones during visits, restrictions regarding the persons allowed to be present during the visitation, as well as guidelines regarding conversations between the child and non-custodial parent.
